Inspirational Quote

Imagine that day,
Where you can finally say,
"I did it!"
When you can say,
"I never gave up, I never quit!"
Imagine that day when you win that gold medal, or reach your goal weight
Where these moments of pain turn into memories for that goal you wanted to obtain
It might take long to reach that moment,
but as soon as you get there,
You will thank yourself for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

Bilingualism

When I was reading the "Life with Two Languages", the author mentioned the aspects of bilingualism in the child. According to the book, children will mix languages because they think it is funny. They will use different ways to play with the language, which includes

1. Taking a word from one language, give it a case ending of the other, and say the two words together.

2. Translating an idiomatic expression word for word into the other language and using that literal translation with a straight face.

3. Speak a language with the pronunciation of the other as a way of making fun of people who cannot speak that language fluently.

Have you ever played with languages? :)

My Life at Austin :)

I attended the Dallas Company Field Trip organized by the Undergraduate Business Council. It was a great opportunity for me to visit the management consulting companies and gain a better understanding of the industry.

I joined the Hispanic Business Student Association. I am glad to be part of them, and I look forward to learn new things ^^

I participated in the PwC xACT Case Challenge 2012. It was a great experience and I am glad to be able to work with a group of dedicated and awesome teammates!

During this Halloween weekend, I went to the Sweet Berry Farm together with other Taosians. It was fun! This is indeed a great opportunity for me to escape from the studies and stress!!! :P

Don't worry about how slowly you feel you are heading to your dreams,
or how many roadblocks you find,
or detours you need to take,
you are still cruising far ahead of everyone who is too afraid to even try

Summer 2012

Summer is about to end and classes are about to begin! Excited for the new life, but at the same time, I feel nervous too! I really need to work harder to be able to achieve both my short term and long term goals!

After my spring internship, I went back to Purdue University to do some preparations. This summer is a little bit laid back, compared to Summer 2011. During Summer 2011, I worked as an IT assistant while taking summer classes. Yes, IT assistant! You must be wondering, how can an accounting student working as an IT assistant. Although this is really very random, but I learned a lot from my supervisors and from the job itself. Glad to have that part time job

This summer, I continue working at Earhart Dining Court. Besides working, I spent my time in exploring Purdue University before leaving to Austin. I went to UT Austin for the summer orientation, registered for classes, had a one-day trip to San Antonio.... Then, I went to California before the summer ends. It was a great trip!

Look forward to study at the UT Austin and hope to be able to achieve my goals!

Went to Austin again during June 2012 to attend the orientation session!!! Yes! I am so excited and look forward to study at McCombs!!!!

Just a random picture about McCombs School of Business. (btw I love the escalator :P)

River walk at San Antonio...:D

I am glad to work at KPMG Malaysia, as I have learned a lot of things beyond my classroom experience. Although I have not taken auditing class, I feel so lucky to meet the seniors who are willing to teach and guide me throughout my internship. Thanks, seniors! And sorry for any troubles that I might bring to you. It is awesome when you got a chance to discuss with seniors about your future profession, and share our experience with all the other interns. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to intern with KPMG!!!!

As you might be aware, I am going to transfer to the University of Texas at Austin this fall. I am so excited!! Why am I transferring? Well., the reason why I wish to transfer is because I want to get more exposure. I want to CHANGE! I shouldn't be contented with my current life and achievements. I should keep moving forward, look for challenges and try to improve myself. I know that McCombs School of Business has the best accounting program in the States. I wish to know the efforts behind this recognition, and I want to learn from them. I want to learn more and try getting use to the life in a big city. Hopefully I can achieve my goals in the near future :)

I know this is kinda long post. Hope you all enjoy reading it! Will try to update my blog more often. :D
