Tesco,

Winter break

Finally, after struggling for 4 months, it is WINTER BREAK!!!!!
Normally, I would choose to travel around during the break.
This time I choose not to go anywhere.
I plan to make good use of this winter break.
1) Sleep as many hours as I can
2) Relax (You won't have time to rest once Spring semester starts)
3) Of course, PLAY!!!!!
4) Enjoy the snow (Although it is freezing, I feel happy whenever it snows...=D)

I just received my first semester results.
I get CGPA 3.70.
Although there are a lot of people getting CGPA 4.0,
I feel satisfied for that results.

Since this is my first semester,
I am not going to force myself.
I will definitely work harder for the coming semester!!!!

ps. I am going to write a brief summarize on my life at Purdue...=)

Crazyness

The Americans......

Next year, I plan to stay with my best friends at Purdue.
There are 7 of us, made up of 4 males and 3 females.
We try to search for an apartment that is near to campus, and the most important is, IT MUST BE CHEAP!!!!
hahaha...we managed to find one.
Since the condition is so good,
we have to line up early so that we can lease the apartment.

In fact, we have to sign the lease on November 5, 2010 so that we can secure a place at the apartment next year.
So, we decided to start lining up at 3pm on November 4, 2010.
Although it sounds crazy, but we have to do this because of the high demand...
Since it is Fall now, the temperature is LOW!!!
the weather forecast even mentioned that there might be snowing during that day!!!
OMG!!!

Indeed, it was very cold.
Surprisingly, we saw a lot of American students lining up as well.
They are well equipped with blanket, sleeping bag, pillow, food....
After a cold and long night, we finally manage to sign the lease!!!
I am relief now because I don't need to worry about the accommodation stuff already..

I personally think that this is a good "crazy" experience for me..
I need to do something CRAZY like this during my university life!!!!
hahahaha

My first job in USA

Today, I finally able to begin my job.
For those who don't know,
I am now working in the Earhart Dining Court.
This is not only my first job in USA,
but also my first job at Purdue.

For international students like me,
We have to apply for Social Security Card before begin working in USA.
In fact, I have already get this job on the early September.
But, it took me 1 month to receive my Social Security Number><

Basically, I need to do everything assigned by the student coordinator.
Although it may be tiring,
I am sure that this would be one of the best thing I ever done during my university life.

2010 Feast of the Hunters' Moon

I went to the 2010 Feast of the Hunters' Moon last Saturday.
It was actually an event that provides us an opportunity to experience the French and Native Americans culture.

Early in the morning, we took this free shuttle bus to the destination...

I took this photos while waiting for other friends...The kids are very cute, isn't it?

I think this is very interesting... A child care station??

There are lots of these types of stalls...People wearing the costumes, and sell their traditional stuff...

I like this pictures...haha..it is very contrast...My friend and I looked VERY tiny when standing beside him...=(

Women wearing the costumes, which we can only seen from movies...

The parades.....

It's my favourite day--Friday again!!!!!

Like other people, Friday is the day I longing for.
Yes, the reason is because weekend IS COMING!!!!
Woohoo!!!
The way I spend my Friday here is more or less like in Nottingham,
except that I rarely have to attend classes on Friday when I was in Nottingham.....
As usual, Friday evening is the time
my wallet become lighter;
the time I have to wash my clothes...
(the only thing I need to do is just to put my clothes into washing machine and dryer, and press "start")=D

Yesterday, I went to the Round table Discussion.
Don't panic.
It is not like the Round table discussion in the business world.
It is just an activity for me to get extra credits for my speech class >.<
Basically the aim of this discussion is to enable Graduate teaching assistant to know more about what an undergraduate student wants from them...
I was shocked when I know I was one of the four undergraduate students who attend the discussion.
Anyway, the feeling of being the youngest person WAS GREAT!!!!

Today, when I was having the management class,
my lecturer brought lots of chocolates to the class.
He would ask us questions,
and we are able to get the chocolates JUST BY ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS!!!!
Wouldn't this be a good idea to wake us up during 8.30am class??

Corn Maze

Last Saturday, my housemate, Michelle told me that she is going to the corn maze.
Since I am free, I decided to follow her to the corn maze.
Initially, I was feel uncomfortable due to several reasons.
1st: the corn is higher than me
2nd: IT IS AT NIGHT!!!!!
Anyway, my worried was gone after I reached there.
In fact, there were many people at the corn maze.

In the corn maze,
there are 30 stations for us to punch our map.
Once we got to that stations, we are able to get discounts by showing the evidence!!!(punched map)
At last, we managed to get to 19 stations!!!
credit to Bernard!!!!!!!

It was really fun when we are searching for the stations,
when we worked together,
when we find a shortcut...
hahaha.....

I was very busy during last 2 weeks.
I even don't have enough time for me to sleep!!!!

All of us!!!!! Yay!!!!!

Since labor day falls on Monday, I was so excited as I will be having 3 days holidays.
I have a lot of plans to be done during this weekend.
the most important things would be COMPLETING MY ASSIGNMENTS!!!!
This is the thing that I have to complete it everyday.
it seems like no ending.
Whenever I have completed the task, there will definitely be a new task for me to complete.
Anyway, this is the life of most of the Purdue students.
Last Friday, my housemate, Michelle's boy friend was coming from Wisconsin to visit her.
So, we plan to invite her friends, including her boy friend to have dinner in our house.
Guess what?
I cooked "Bak kut teh"!!!!!
Will upload the pictures soon...=)
Yesterday, my friends Yan, Zi Han, kinsey, Bin Hao, Eugene, William and Jai were cooking our dinner.
We cooked a lot of food, this is why it took us 2 hours to finish cooking!!!!!
It was already 9.30pm, and we just started to enjoy or dinner.
We took our dinner outside of the apartment,
enjoying the cold weather and delicious food...

Life at Purdue

The moment I arrived Purdue,
I knew that I need to gradually adapt to the lifestyle here.
The most obvious thing that differentiate USA and Malaysia is the attitude of the road users.
There is pedestrians rights in USA.
The car will automatically stop for you to cross the road.
If I have already get use to it, I will definitely have a big trouble when I am back in Malaysia =)

I just played tennis just now.
It is my first time playing tennis at Purdue!!!
Weeeeee
I will definitely continue playing tennis,
and try to involve in the clubs and organizations here!!!!

About the class,
normally one class takes only 50 minutes,
and there are 3 session in a week.
Personally I like the way they arranged the time of class,
since we will easily get bored after the first hour of class.
However, I am VERY busy throughout my first week of studies here.
I have pre calculus class on Monday,
and WE HAVE QUIZ ON TUESDAY!!!!!!
Almost every courses require us to take the quizes...=(
And the most important thing that bothers me is that I have to get 90% out of 100% in order to get an A!!!!
This is really very challenging for me!!!!

I am going to the Lake of Michigan Trip organized by Purdue University tomorrow!!!!!
Hope I can get lots of fun....=)

I will upload photos on the next post...=)

Hello Purdue!!!!

After so many hours of plane, I finally reach Indiana, USA.
I reached Purdue University together with seniors.
You will not be able imagine how embarrassed are we.
Each of us have brought 1 big luggage, 1 hand luggage and laptops.
The condition of my bag made the things worst.
One of the wheel has already broken,
and I have to bring along the bag by using 3 wheels instead of 4 wheels....=(
Furthermore, we had to walk for 10 minutes before we reached the apartments.
OMG!!! The weather is so HOT and yet, we have to carry all the belongings by ourselves.
At last, Xin Yuan (senior) suggested to use trolley.
With the help of the trolley, we finally managed to move everything to the apartment.
Right after that, we went to buy the soft drinks IMMEDIATELY
hahahahahaa....

The compound of Purdue University is VERY VERY big.
I did not even realized that I have already reached Purdue.
It is like a town, with cars and public transportation.
These are some of the photos of Purdue University....=)

I found this squirrel...hahaha...=)
